BIOGRAPHY: Born and raised in Glendale, Gareth is a patriotic family man – kind-hearted, hard-working, and just a touch cheeky. Salt-of-the-earth, he’s the sort of person who’ll lend a hand before you’ve even asked and crack a smile while he’s doing it.

The product of an affair between Betty Worchester and Harold Bancroft, Gareth grew up believing that Gerald Worchester was his real father. When the truth came out in his late teens, it shattered his sense of identity. Reeling from the revelation, he left Glendale behind and rebuilt his life in London.

It was there he met Yasmin, a beauty student who grounded him and completely changed his life. They married young and went on to build a family of their own with three children: Leo, Freya, and Ruby.

Gareth trained as a butcher, eventually opening his own thriving shop in Bow in London’s East End. But success couldn’t quiet the pull of home. As the years passed, he found himself longing for the quiet peacefulness of Glendale. In 2024, after years of silence, he finally answered one of his mother’s calls, and it set in motion the wheels of change. Soon after, he and Yasmin purchased Willow Cottage and relocated both their home and businesses to the village.

Now happily settled back where he started, Gareth is slowly mending the strained bond with his mother and forging a new one with his half-sister, Julia Harrington-Jones.
